Body Lice- Body lice live and lay eggs in the seams of clothing. The lice will appear on the body only when they feed. Body lice are the only lice that can spread disease. Although body lice can be spread by close body to body contact, it is most commonly due to poor hygiene or living in an over-crowded space. Body lice will usually clear up after hygiene has improved-showering regularly and wearing clean clothes.

If your child has been diagnosed with lice or if you have pubic lice, it is imperative that you start treatment right away. The most common treatment is at home lice removal kits. However, there are also prescription medications that your doctor may prescribe. In some instances, if lice removal is proving to be extremely resistant, you doctor may prescribe an oral medication.
